Abstract

A new species of Buprestidae, Polycesta (Nemaphorus) daira sp. nov., is described from specimens collected in the coastal localities of the Atacama Region in northern Chile. Diagnostic characters of the new species, photograph of the adults and of the male genitalia are given. The distribution of the Chilean species of the genus Polycesta are presented in a map.
