No description of damage symptoms has been published, but symptoms are similar to those of A. foveicollis. The beetles cause large holes in the leaves, causing skeletonization or defoliation in extreme cases. Sometimes the flowers, especially the anthers, are attacked by the adults. The larvae are also very injurious to cucurbitaceous plants, gnawing at the roots and lower parts of the stem. They sometimes tunnel under the outer tissues of stems and under the rind of fruits.
Apparently nothing has been published on control, but the same methods employed against A. foveicollis apply to this species.
