  • Deep plough the field to bury infected residues
  • Use healthy seeds
  • Use recommended seed rate (sowing 8 kg/ha; row seeding 4-5 kg/ha, transplanting 3 kg/ha)
  • Apply recommended dosage of N fertilizer
  • Remove alternative host plants (grasses)
  • Look for small, brown, circular, elongated spots developing into a large elongated spindle-shaped area
  • Observe for black and shrink neck region
  • Look for discoloured fingers (brownish grey)
  • Look for symptoms on alternative hosts such as grasses
  • Always wear personal protective equipment while handling pesticides. Read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully before handling pesticides.#
  • Do not eat, smoke or drink while spraying pesticides. Do not repeat application of pesticides with the same mode of action.
  • WHO Class II – Moderately hazardous. WHO Class III – Slightly hazardous . WHO Class U – Unlikely to present acute hazard in normal use. FRAC – Fungicide Resistant Action Committee
  • Carbendazim (50% WG). Rate of application -225-275 g/ha. Rate of dilution – 7g/10 lit. of water
  • WHO Class U. FRAC MOA 1-B1. Application intervals 10-14 days
  • Tebuconazole (250 g/L EW). Rate of application 200-350 ml/ha. Rate of dilution – 6 ml/10 lit. of water
  • WHO Class III. FRAC MOA 3-G1. Application intervals 7-10 days. Maximum two application per season
  • Tricyclazole (75% WP). Rate of application - 190 -240 g/ha. Rate of dilution – 6g/10 lit. of water
  • WHO Class II. FRAC MOA 16.1-I1. Application intervals 7-10 days. Maximum two application per season
