Mycelium on pods, stems and leaves, amphigenous, forming patches or effuse, subpersistent; hyphal cells 45-75 x (2.5-)5(-10) µm; appressoria unlobed to moderately lobed; conidiophores erect, straight, foot-cells cylindrical, 15-50 x 7-10 µm, followed by (1-)2(-3) shorter or occasionally somewhat longer cells; conidia solitary, cylindrical-doliiform, (25-)30-48(-55) x 12-21 µm, length/width ratio >2. Ascomata (chasmothecia) scattered to gregarious, 85-150 µm diam., peridial cells irregularly polygonal to rounded in outline, 10-25 µm diam., appendages numerous, in the lower half, length variable, 0.5-3.5 times as long as the ascomatal diam., mycelioid, thin-walled, septate, smooth to rough-walled, hyaline, later yellowish to brownish below and paler towards the apex, 4-10 µm wide; asci (3-)4-10(-12), saccate, short-stalked, rarely sessile, (40-)50-85 x 25-45(-50), (2-)3-6(-8)-spored; ascospores (15-)18-24(-30) x 10-14(-16) µm (Braun, 1995).
